Quantum Sequential Hypothesis Testing

چکیده

We introduce sequential analysis in quantum information processing, by focusing on the fundamental task of hypothesis testing. In particular our goal is to discriminate between two arbitrary states with a prescribed error threshold, $\epsilon$, when copies can be required demand. obtain ultimate lower bounds average number needed accomplish task. give block-sampling strategy that allows achieve bound for some classes states. The optimal both symmetric as well asymmetric setting sense it requires least mean out all other procedures, including ones fix ahead time. For qubit we derive explicit expressions minimum and show based fixed local measurements outperforms best collective measurement predetermined copies. Whereas general increases $\log 1/\epsilon$, pure strategies require finite samples even case perfect discrimination, i.e., $\epsilon=0$.

Active Sequential Hypothesis Testing

Consider a decision maker who is responsible to dynamically collect observations so as to enhance his information about an underlying phenomena of interest in a speedy manner while accounting for the penalty of wrong declaration. Due to the sequential nature of the problem, the decision maker relies on his current information state to adaptively select the most “informative” sensing action amon...

Multisource Bayesian sequential hypothesis testing

On some probability space (Ω,F,P), let (X)t≥0, 1 ≤ i ≤ d be d independent Brownian motions with constant drifts μ(i), 1 ≤ i ≤ d, and (T (j) n , Z n )n≥1, 1 ≤ j ≤ m be m independent compound Poisson processes independent of the Brownian motions (X)t≥0, 1 ≤ i ≤ d. For every 1 ≤ j ≤ m, (T (j) n )n≥1 are the arrival times, and (Z n )n≥1 are the marks on some measurable space (E, E), with arrival ra...

Multisource Bayesian sequential binary hypothesis testing problem

We consider the problem of testing two simple hypotheses about unknown local characteristics of several independent Brownian motions and compound Poisson processes. All of the processes may be observed simultaneously as long as desired before a final choice between hypotheses is made. The objective is to find a decision rule that identifies the correct hypothesis and strikes the optimal balance...

On Composite Quantum Hypothesis Testing

σ ⊗n is given by a regularized quantum relative entropy distance formula. We prove that in general such a regularization is needed but also discuss various settings where our formula as well as extensions thereof become single-letter. This includes a novel operational interpretation of the relative entropy of coherence in terms of hypothesis testing. For our proof, we start from the composite S...

Sequential Analysis : Hypothesis Testing and Changepoint Detection

Sequential Analysis: Hypothesis Testing and Changepoint Detection Report Title The main focus of this book is on a systematic development of the theory of sequential hypothesis testing (Part I) and changepoint detection (Part II). In Part III, we briefly describe certain important applications where theoretical results can be used efficiently, perhaps with some reasonable modifications. We revi...
